ISO 9001 is rather a milestone for the requirements of quality management and services in the business sector and while making trade deals.

ISO 9001:2008, is the world's most widely used quality management standard.

At the end of 2007, at least 951 486 certificates of conformity of the previous edition, ISO 9001:2000, had been issued in 175 countries and economies.

ISO 9001:2008 sets the minimum requirements of a quality management system that a company needs to implement when seeking to prove competence in order to provide, at a standard basis, products and services that meet the requirements of the customers, as well as incorporating the requirements deriving from National Legislation and Commission Decisions.

This Standard has been designed in such a way; so that it can be implemented by all companies from all sectors regardless their size.

Certification for a quality management system is no other than an official recognition of its actual implementation and introduces a competitive advantage for a company towards competition.
