In a letter addressed by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Greece to Sergey Dankvert, Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor, it is in particular stated that due to the sanctions imposed by the European Union against Russia and due to economic countermeasures taken by Russia the bilateral trade with food products between Greece and Russia has drastically decreased.

The meeting was held upon an initiative of the Greek Partner. Georgios Kasapidis requested the Roselkhoznadzor to support a proposal of Panagitis Sgouridis, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Greece, on the development of bilateral relations in the area of agriculture and safety monitoring of food products as well as in the context of lifting restrictions in reference to some key plant products and also expressed his interest in the development of Greek-Russian parliamentary contacts.

Besides familiarization of Alexey Alexeyenko, Associate Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor, with activities of the port service for phytosanitary surveillance some issues of mutual interest, particularly, entering into force in Russia of a new list of quarantinable objects, were discussed.
